A Bit of History

Charleston Light, officially known as Sullivan’s Island Lighthouse, is situated on Sullivan’s Island near Charleston. Built in 1962 to replace the decommissioned Morris Island Lighthouse, it stands at 140 feet and features a distinctive black and white color scheme. Charleston Light is an active navigational aid, guiding ships entering Charleston Harbor and serving as a modern counterpart to its historic predecessor.
