A Bit of History

Beavertail Lighthouse, located on the southern tip of Conanicut Island in Jamestown, Rhode Island, is one of the oldest lighthouses in the United States, dating back to 1749. The current granite tower, built in 1856, stands 64 feet tall and continues to guide vessels through the entrance of Narragansett Bay. With its red lantern room and distinctive white tower, Beavertail Lighthouse is a beloved maritime landmark and offers visitors stunning views of the bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
