A Bit of History

Just north of Donaghadee, Mew Island’s elegant black and white banded tower watches over the southern entrance to Belfast Lough. The island is one of three which make up the Copeland group, most of which is now designated as a bird sanctuary. The islands are particularly important for breeding populations of Manx Shearwater and Artic terns.
