The first lighthouse at Howth head was goes back as far as 1667 and was originally built higher up on the hill. Since it was constantly lost in mist, a decision was made to move the lighthouse south along the headland to Little Baily, or Duncriffin.
There are great views of the lighthouse along the cliff walk from all directions. I chose the view coming south towards the lighthouse as the headland and the keeper’s cottages are more visible from that direction.
