Heugh Hill Lighthouse—along with nearby Guile Point Lighthouse—is a framework tower with a red daymark providing a lead for vessels entering Holy Island Harbour.
It is located near to the ruins of Lindisfarne Priory, with the imposing silhouette of the Lindisfarne Castle in the distance. Nearby boat-masts clink and shudder in the breeze.
It’s quite the magical place despite the structure being no great shakes to look at, though from a particular angle, the framework looks like a girl waving to friends while she shelters her eyes from the (infrequent) Northumberland sunshine.
